About Us

This site is independent and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or any government agency. For official information, visit VA.gov.

Our Mission

Djvi exists for one reason: to give U.S. military veterans, spouses, surviving spouses, and families affected by mesothelioma and asbestos exposure clear, plain-English information about the VA disability, healthcare, and survivor benefits they may be entitled to.

VA regulations are dense, and a serious diagnosis leaves little energy for decoding them. We break down eligibility rules, claims procedures, compensation programs, and healthcare options into calm, structured guides — so you can walk into a conversation with a Veterans Service Officer (VSO), a VA-accredited claims agent, or a VA-accredited attorney already understanding your options.

What We Are — and What We Are Not

We are an independent educational publication. We are not a government agency, a law firm, a medical provider, or a claims service. We do not file claims, evaluate cases, sell leads, or connect visitors with attorneys. Nothing on this site is medical, legal, or financial advice.

Our Editorial Standards

  • We cite official sources — VA.gov, the Code of Federal Regulations, Cancer.gov, CDC/NIOSH, and peer-reviewed research — in every guide.
  • We state the year for any dollar figure, because VA rates change annually, and we link to the official VA rate pages.
  • We never promise outcomes. Every claim depends on individual facts, and we say so.
  • We review and update articles as VA rules change. Each article shows its review date.
